Social Science Question

Assignment 1:

Part 1: select a negatively charged advertisement/packaging and identify racist and stereotypical connotations; critique and assess.

Part 2: select a positive and beneficial advertisement and identify equality, diversity and inclusive connotations. How do bias, stereotypes, assumptions, and/or perspective shape these ads?

Assignment 2:

Part 1: Reaction Post: Identify a TV show; online series; movie; YouTube video; OR theatrical production within the last 10 years that has stereotypical and discriminatory behaviors, characters, and/or plot. Explore your answers and be specific. (In the Discussion, include a short video clip or trailer of the piece you chose).

Since these are “reactions”, students should include an abundance of reactions/personal perspectives that reflect purposeful methods to reduce stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination as well as create inclusion and equality.

Part 2 :  Include a short video clip or trailer of the piece you chose for context.
