Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to: a) identify the AACN Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing, b) evaluate the various roles of the master’s prepared nurse, c) perform a library database search, d) demonstrate application of APA 6^th edition format, and e) experience an immersion into a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Second Life (SL).

Requirements

For this assignment, students will be participating in an immersion exercise in a Virtual Learning Environment, Second Life. STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE ORIENTATION AT THE SCHEDULED TIME TO BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS ASSIGNMENT.

Week 2: Access to Second Life Orientation (10 points recorded separately for week 6)

Week 3 -6: Students will complete a scavenger hunt and place answers to the questions on the answer sheet, save it as a MS word document per instructions, and place it in the correct Dropbox folder by the end of Week 6 on Sunday at 11:59 pm MT. The scavenger hunt is focused on the nine AACN Essentials for Master ‘s Education in Nursing (2011). These Essentials can be accessed via the AACN website (see Webliography).
