The CDC website contains a database of the results of the National Hospital Discharge Survey which has been conducted every year since 1965. Provided is a description of the characteristics of patients discharged from acute care hospitals in the US. HCUPnet is a free, on-line query system based on data from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP). The HCUP provides access to health statistics and information on hospital inpatient and emergency department utilization.
