Regional Metamorphism and Contact Metamorphism Discussion

Compare and contrast regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism. Be sure to describe the differences in the spatial occurrence of the rocks and the timing of their metamorphism in relation to adjacent rocks.

#8 (Modified) Draw the three principle types of unconformities:  angular unconformity, disconformity, and nonconformity. Next to each one, write out a brief history outlining how they form.

#19 Explain how radiometric ages are determined for rocks using radiometric dating. Be sure to include the concept of "blocking" or "closure" temperature in your explanation.

#20 How old is the Earth?  What is the basis for that age?

#21 Compare and contrast Uranium-Lead dating with Radiocarbon dating.
