A former employee of Post Corp. - who quit last year just before you were about to fire him for repeatedly failing to meet performance targets - just emailed you from his new job, requesting a recommendation. Apparently, his new job is not going as well as he had hoped and he regrets leaving his position at Post Corporation. If you do not have any current openings, he would be grateful for a letter of recommendation.

Write an e-mail message to your former employee explaining why you will not be writing them a recommendation. Make up any details needed. In your response to your classmate’s post, critique their style and tone, pointing out strengths and giving any constructive feedback about their message.

  3. A message to your team of 10 employees notifying them that there will be no year-end bonuses because you did not meet your department goals.
  4. A message to all employees informing them that to avoid layoffs each employee will need to forfeit one week’s paid vacation.
