Answer the following questions after reading of The Apology: http://classics.mit.edu/Plato/apology.html 

1). What is the main point Socrates made by telling the story about the Oracle of Delphi?

2). How did Socrates defend himself against the charge of corrupting the youth and the charge of atheism (impiety)?

3). Why did Socrates think that fearing death is unwise?

4). At one point Socrates compared himself to a gadfly (horsefly) and the Athenians to a thoroughbred horse. What is the point of this comparison?

5). Why did Socrates not seek public office?
