Students will attend a leadership meeting at their workplace or other faculty approved organization. The meeting may take place in person or via Zoom/Webex or another online modality. The meeting should include nursing and may also include other disciplines.

Write a reflection paper on the experience, 1-2 pages. Ideas to include in the reflection:

1. What was the purpose of the meeting and time frame?
2. Who were the leaders present? Provide name, credentials, site, and roles.
3. What was the leadership style of the meeting leader?
4. Was an agenda followed?
5. Did participants engage freely in discussion?
6. Did the discussion center around patient issues or department/organization concerns?
7. Was there any resolution to existing problems?
8. Were policy recommendations initiated?
9. Were decisions made based on data? What type of data was presented?
10. Were measurements utilized based on patient safety and quality improvement initiatives?
11. Could you identify the culture of the unit or service at the meeting?
12. Was a person or team identified to follow up or evaluate an issue?
13. Is this a standing meeting or an ad hoc meeting?
