Week 8: Professional Presentation of Project

PURPOSE

This assignment provides the opportunity for the student to organize all of the elements of the MSN EBP scholarly project and then present the information to peers. The presentation style should be as if this is a persuasive presentation to obtain approval to implement the results.

REQUIREMENTS

Description of the Assignment

Using power point slides, the student will present the MSN EBP scholarly project developed during NR 505. The student is to assume the role of an advance practice nurse within the selected specialty track and is seeking permission to implement the results of the EBP project. Each student is required to submit the completed power point presentation for faculty review AND to the discussion topic reserved for the presentation (Week 8: Post Your Presentation). The presentation consists of professionally presented information on the slide as well as speaker notes that identifies all of the required elements. Speaker notes are required and should be in sufficient detail that someone else could present the information.

Criteria for Content

1. Presentation is to include content from all sections of assignment due at the end of Week Six using the criteria for each section but selecting the key components that would be instrumental in gaining leadership support for your proposal. The content on the slide needs to be concise, informative and demonstrates standards for slide presentation.

2. Use of color, art/images and font style and size for ease of viewing in either a small or large venue.

3. Comprehensive speaker notes that are NOT word-for-word from previous assignments; this assignment presents what you would say in order to receive permission to implement the results of the EBP proposal!

PREPARING THE ASSIGNMENT

Criteria for Format and Special Instructions

1. The required information will be presented via power point. The presentation must be posted in the designated discussion topic located in Week Eight (Post Your Presentation) and submitted to faculty via the drop box.

2. The PowerPoint Presentation (excluding the Title slide and References slide) should not exceed 15

PowerPoint slides. Points will be lost for not meeting these length requirements.

3. Speaker notes are required for each slide. The information in the speaker note should be demonstrate detail and thorough presentation of the content.

4. As needed, references are noted on the slide and in the speaker notes.

5. Students are required to present content with power point slides that are both professional and creative in appearance as well as demonstrate appropriate style.
