DIETARY ANALYSIS 3-DAY FOOD RECORD

Step 1: Submission of Dietary Analysis Results (8 points)

•Record everything you eat or drink for three (3) consecutive days (this time period should include 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day). Note: do not use as part of this assignment the 1 day food record previously entered. Remember to record the amount you eat or drink as well as how it is prepared and any condiments you use, e.g., Ketchup, salad dressing, mayonnaise, butter or margarine. DO NOT INCLUDE ANY PROTEIN, VITAMIN OR MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS OR SHAKES.

•Go to the Diet & Wellness Plus program website, select the Track Diet tab and enter the food and beverages and quantities you consumed for each day. Be sure you are entering the correct form of the food item; for example: Dry pasta vs. Cooked pasta. These type of errors will result in incorrect data.

•Once your three day food intake is entered, click on the Reports Tab.

•Click on the “not started” button for the assignment: Three Day Food Record.

•Select the start and end dates for the 3 days you entered under Track diet.

•Review the information in this report and verify the accuracy of the Dates and Food Logs, make any corrections if needed.

•Look over the report for the following information under the section Intake vs. Goals to verify you entered the foods and amounts correctly:

?Calories: If your intake is less than 50% or over 200% of your DRI, go back to Track Diet and review the data entered for each day for correct food item and portion size and change if necessary.

•When you are satisfied everything is accurate, click on the SUBMIT button. By clicking the Submit button the report will be available for review by your instructor.

Step 2: Blackboard submission of Assignment Question answer:

•Answer the following question(s) using the information from the Dietary Analysis results and save as a Word document.

Review your daily food logs and calorie intake. Is this a reflection of your usual intake? Briefly explain your answer. (2 points)

•Go back and click on the assignment link “Diet Analysis: Three Day Food Record” and attach this document under Assignment submission; then click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. By clicking on the Submit button the answers will be available for review by your instructor.
