Below are several components from your course objectives. Choose a culture (this can be a country, a club/activity, an organization, a society, a race, a religion, etc.). Then create a presentation highlighting at least 5 of the components below to demonstrate your understanding of the course objectives:

  • Identify the major elements of the culture (material and nonmaterial) and the influence of the culture on the behavior of those who are members of the culture.
  • Describe how the group/culture is structured and organized. Include roles and responsibilities.
  • Discuss the process of how group members are socialized and the major agents of that socialization.
  • Define and explain norms and deviance within the culture.
  • Describe how the group/culture is stratified and the impact of this stratification on members of the culture.
  • Discuss issues of race and ethnicity within the culture.
  • Describe how the family functions as an agent of socialization within the culture.
  • Describe how the institution of education functions as an agent of socialization within the culture.
  • Explain how social changes occur within the group/culture.

Be sure to create a title page that names the culture you chose. Provide at least one slide per chosen bullet point above for a minimum total of 5 content slides, 1 title page, and 1 references page. On your content slide, be sure to clearly indicate which bullet point you chose to describe. See rubric for additional grading details.
