To prepare:

Read the article, “Paradigms in Business Process Management Specifications: A Critical Review.” Pay particular attention to the descriptions of business process design approaches and their similarities and differences.

Read the articles, “Resistance to change in BPM implementation” and “Difficulty in Implementing Continuous Improvement–Rasch Measurement Analysis.” Reflect on the challenges that may arise when making improvements in business processes and how such challenges are best addressed.

Select three business process management approaches to compare for this assignment.

• Identify one business process that is used at the organization that you selected in Module 1 that could be improved, in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, or to better align with the new organizational strategy. Consider which business process management approach you would use to improve the business process and why.
• Identify one challenge that might arise when implementing a business process management approach to improve a business process and consider how you would overcome the challenge.
• Submit a paper that addresses the following:
• Compare three business process management approaches. 
• Briefly describe one business process that is used at the organization that you selected in Module 1 that could be improved, in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, or to better align with the new organizational strategy. Describe which business process management approach you would use to improve the process, and explain why. Then, provide two specific examples of how using the approach would improve the business process.
• Describe at least one challenge related to implementing a business process management approach to improve a business process, and explain how you would overcome the challenge. Be specific.
