For this discussion forum, your objective is to go through the ESA and find a section (or sections) in the Act that has been violated by an employer. Unfortunately, contraventions of the ESA are common if you have worked in the retail, restaurant, and hospitality industries. As a worker, you really need to know what your minimum statutory rights are and so I highly recommend that you go through the ESA. If you (personally) have not experienced any statutory violations, then you can write about someone you know who was a victim of a statutory breach of a section in the ESA. If you share a personal story, please use pseudonyms for any people and companies/employers you mention in order to protect the identities of the parties involved. Also, make sure you provide enough detail so it is clear that the employer contravened a section (or sections) of the ESA.

You must cite the section(s) of the ESA that were breached and provide a hyperlink to the section mentioned under your “References”.
