Global warming is the rise of global temperature over the past decades. The average global temperature has increased at a rapid rate. Thus it is global warming that is responsible for ticking temperature upwards. Humans cause no doubt, this rise in temperature. The burning of fossil fuels released greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Due to this reason, these gases are trapped and causing Earth to heat up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What causes global warming?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide is released, along with other pollutants and greenhouse, collects in the atmosphere. These pollutants are unable to escape into space so they can last for years in the atmosphere. The heat then traps into the air and cause the planet to get hotter. The whole process is known as the greenhouse effect.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another major cause of global warming is the burning of fossil fuels like oil, coal, and so on. Besides this, deforestation is also a great contributor to causing global warming since it is estimated that logging, forest fires, cutting trees, and other forms of deforestation contribute up to 20% of the CO2 emission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the effects of Global Warming?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Melting Glaciers\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The melting of glaciers is perhaps the most visible effect of global warming. Thick sheets of ice are melting at a fast rate. In the late 1800s, we had 150 glaciers, but now we have only 26. Rising sea levels will cause a flood in the Eastern Seaboard areas. Massive floods or increasing heatwaves will destroy forests or crops.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the world is warming, the dried areas are facing drought-like situations. Every year we notice that summers are getting hotter than before. Benjamin Cook, a climate scientist at NASA, said, \u201cThe future of drought in western North America is likely to be worse than anybody has experienced in the history of the United States.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hurricanes and Typhoons<\/span><\/h3>\n

If the Earth continued to boil like this, we\u2019d be seeing more extreme weather situations like Hurricanes and Typhoons. Since hooter oceans evaporate more moisture, tropical cyclones are likely to be seen more in the future. These factors may cause disruption habitats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The USA is producing two billion tons of carbon dioxide every year by burning fossil fuels to make electricity. It means we provide 16 percent of all global carbon dioxide emissions.<\/span><\/p>\n
