Thus different types of forests have different characteristics that help them to survive in different environments. Three main types of forests are separated according to their distance from the equator.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let us discuss these types of forests one by one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tropical<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tropical forests receive a lot of the\u00a0 rain, annual rainfall of 100 inches throughout the year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forest grew around the equator in South Africa, Africa, and Southeast Asia.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have the highest diversity per area in the world, with millions of species.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though the forest covers only a small part of the Earth, they still have millions of species of flora and fauna.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The soil has low mineral and nutrient content. It is several meters deep and supports so much life.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The temperature here remains stable around 27-degree Celcius.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roots are shallow and thus catch any nutrient released by the decaying leaves.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deforestation is a prevalent concern in tropical areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It generally has a dry and rainy season.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly 0.6 miles contains various species with around 100 tress.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Temperate<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The temperate range of forests extends throughout North America, Eurasia, and Japan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forest receives well defined four seasons in this zone, including winter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The temperature varies from -30 to 30 degrees Celcius.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winters are too freezing while summers are too hot<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rainfall varies from 30-60 inches annually.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pines and fir trees are common types of trees found in these forests.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The decaying leaves and moderate temperatures combine to create fertile soil.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On average, there are three to four species per square kilometers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hardwoods found in these forests are used for making expensive furniture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Common tree species are oak, beech, willow, hickory, and so on.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Common animal species found here are rabbits, beak, deer, wolves, and so on.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boreal<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Boreal forests are found in the south of the tundra and extend in areas located in North America and Eurasia.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coniferous trees are found which is needle-shaped with a minimal surface that prevents excessive water loss<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A significant source of industrial wood and wood fiber.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forest has only two seasons: summer and winter.
